WHY DO YOU GIVE YOUR TIME TO HORIZON HIGH SCHOOL?

“As a therapist working with adolescents, it was extremely challenging to support recovery as students remained in public high schools or were mainstreamed into schools following treatment. The environment in schools was not conducive for sobriety. Recovery High Schools provide opportunities to set students up for long-term success both in recovery and academically. My commitment to enhance and support HHS continues to be rewarding and purposeful. Recovery is a lifetime process and witnessing the transformation of students at HHS is a direct result of a working with a devoted board and a very gifted and passionate staff”.

WHY YOU GIVE YOUR TIME TO HORIZON HIGH SCHOOL?

“I have a long-standing interest in adolescent treatment and recovery. I have been involved in research on recovery schools since 1993 and hope to be able to help apply some of what I have learned by working with Horizon High School”.

WHY YOU GIVE YOUR TIME TO HORIZON HIGH SCHOOL?

“I really believe in the mission and goals of Horizon High School. We lost our son, CJ Norwell to mental illness and addiction on May 18, 2013. CJ’s issues began in high school. If he would have had access to a school like Horizon, we might have had a different outcome.”
